Can you set the top object's fill to a gradient that goes from the darker blue to the lighter cyan blue of the base object and skip the transparency?

Hummm.
I do the drawing I need in both Corel and Illy and just use Flexi to rip and plot so we'll have to wait for a Flexi expert to chime in.
How come you can't import into Flexi what you need from Corel?

I am just the artist... the place I'm having print, when he imports my .eps into Flexi, it gets messy. Also, the guy I'm working with recently took over at the shop I'm sending to (the other guy left) and now having issues.

I think this might work.
I took the base object duplicated it 3 times
so now I have:
base solid object black
second object with holes gray
3rd object - left half of the shape - gradient blue to white
4th object right half of shape gradient blue to white.
transparency lens on #3 and 4.

3 and 4 could be one object with the gradient adjusted to get the effect.

this is in Flexi 8.6 maybe v10 works better.
All I can say is that I am glad I am not limited to the tools in Flexi to do drawings that are more than simple geometric shapes with solid fills.

turn your correll drawing into a jpeg that is bigger than what you need...import into flexi and shrink back to correct size in flexi...then apply underbase, contour cut, and your done...

flexi doesn't have a gradient fade to transparent. It really sucks that it doesn't
