How to remove plastic hammer drives

Looks like we will be rehabbing a couple 1.5" thick x 24" x 120" Cedar Sandblasted signs, mounted to community entrance walls.

They need to be removed because they need seam/split repairs.

Unfortunately the installers used 6 plastic hammer drives on each sign, probably one reason they split so bad.

Anyone have an idea how to remove them without damaging the cedar signs? Oh and the fasteners are in the raised boarder, not sandblasted area.

Cats paw and small piece of scrap to help prevent damage from force required to remove pin then repair as needed. You are already doing wood repair to sign, might as well repair holes from pins and come up with a better plan for hanging when done.
