how to undo this in illy

I dont know when or how this happened, but I want it undone.

Does anyone have any idea how to detach these tools from each other

Saving your Workspace

Set up your workspace the way you like it. Then click on the drop down in the upper left corner that says "Essentials" and click save workspace. Name it and when illustrator decides to change it, click the drop down and you will be back to the way you like it.

Hey Visual800, click and drag just underneath the top bar as shown in my attached image then move the window away and it will separate.

yes, grab the top of the tab and pull it out of the placeholder.

once you have all of your tabs/windows where you like them save the workspace (window>workspace>new workspace, "name", save).

if you want to reset the tab, click on the tiny ">>" to contract the toolbar from palate view to buttons, or mini buttons. if you close out each tab it will go away too.
