This is an indoor sign and will be made of 3mm brushed aluminum, cut out letters, then mounted to 1/8" clear acrylic so the inside of the letters can still be used. We are wanting it to stand off at least 1" from the wall but no hardware can be seen on the front so won't be using stand offs in the traditional way. Was thinking of using an epoxy on some 1" barrels, adhering to the back of the sign and adhering that to the slat wall. Any other techniques you'd recommend here?

Are those special order or where can I find them? Use those on my stand offs and then glue the flat part to the sign panel correct?

Yes. Drill holes and sink the bolts in with epoxy. I use plastic spacers to standoff from the wall. Then glue the flat side to the sign. I print/plot out the sign shape and the mounting position. Then use that to mark the back of the sign for bolt positioning and use it again to drill the holes in the wall.

Sorry. Most any industrial hardware supply place will have them. Grainger, White Cap, Mcfadden Dale. Not sure what area you are in. I haven't had luck at home depot though.
