I got a new HP 115 that was never started up. Never inked up. If I get new ink for it due to orginal ink outdated. Does the heads need changed out due to factory ink in these or do they contain ink from the factory? its 3 years old.

The heads expire as well. But you have nothing to lose by putting the heads in and new ink in and doing a test print... not like you're going to contaminate and ruin the heads! I'd say odds are it'll be fine... There isnt too much ink in the heads, and theyre pretty sealed.

If the print heads are bad, all you contaminate are the heads which you would have had to replace anyways, so it's a win-win situation.

If the ink is bad you could potentially ruin the print heads, it's really bad you have to flush out all the lines... It's just not worth it.
