HP 365 Thick Vertical Banding

City Decal

New Member
Our 365 has been outputting weird vertical bands while printing solid orange (77%M/100%Y) and we're wondering if anybody has seen anything similar?

Printing at 10P-100% ink density with an 800ms interpass delay, we get 12 wavy bands that are somewhat in line with the 12 airflow diffusor nozzles in the print chamber. Only change that has produced a usable print is upping the passes & density to 16P/120% with the same 800ms interpass delay. Super slow... When we run that 16P/120% mode WITHOUT an interpass delay, the bands become a problem again (although they are less noticeable than at 10P-100%)

Printing a pure hue test at 10P-100% with all ICC profiles off results in really nice CMYKLCLM test patches, but we still get banding in the orange as shown.

Material is 3M IJ180cv3 and Y/M heads & inks have been recently changed. Encoder strip is clean and our trailing cable was replaced last year. Machine has about 67K square feet through it.

Thank you!
