HP 730 Colors too Dark

Just had a new 730 installed while we were first impressed by the colors it prints we have now come to see that the prints are all too saturation. Printing a dark blue on Avery MPI 1105 12p120 makes the blue nearly black. We have tried making new profiles with the ink density lowered but then the color itself drops out but is still too dark.

Please if anyone could offer some advice I would appreciate it.

Attached is a proof vs printed file example

What are you using for your design software and what are you using for your RIP?

Our designers all design in Illustrator/Photoshop. However we then load their files into Flexi Design to setup cut paths and organize files. From There we load into Flexi Production Manager. I have been told that loading into Flexi Design isn't good but this is how the shop I work for has been doing it for decades.

Also, be sure you run a color calibration on your media before you start.

You can always try the Generic Cast profile instead of the Avery 1105 and see if your getting the same results. If you are, more than likely the issue is in the colors in the file or an embedded profile.

I have no clue where you are lowering the density. Create just a new print mode with 90% ink on the machine, synchronize RIP and use this print mode. And yes, in addition a color calibration done on the unit is helpful.

For blue spot colors printing too dark, disable the Spot Color Replacement Table in the RIP (see attached in Onyx). Flexi Production Manager refers to this as Color Mapping (disable on the 730).
