I have an opportunity to buy an HP designjet 800PS printer with about 15 extra ink cartridges for $200. I know this is a thermal inkjet printer and not a solvent printer, therefore not ideal for long term outdoor signage.
My question is will it print on calendared or cast vinyl or 15 oz banner material and is there any use for this printer for a sign shop as far as indoor signage or short term outdoor banners. I sell quite a few banners for the school for example that are only outside the length of a football game and then taken in or banners that are only used for a parade and then stored inside. I know it isn’t ideal but for $200 just trying to think of how it could be used.
