hp l25500 scratching materials

the printer does this on banners and vinyl it seems to scratch the material in the same spot first 2 or 3 feet after that its there but not as bad , the scratch lines up with the metal pinch roller holder as seen in picture 2.
any ideas?

That might be an oil residue.
If you have recently cleaned carriage rod and oiled it, the excess oil fill find its way down to the rollers.
As you know, the waterbase ink will not adhere on the oiled substrate :)

Ask me how I know this :banghead:
