HP Latex 115 Issues

Hello everyone,
I'm excited to join this community! My name is Jason, and I run Swizz Digital, a business focused on personalized items, graphic design, web development, and printing services.

What brought me here is an issue I am having with a new HP Latex 115 purchased in June of this year.
The printer is getting some horizontal banding and also laying down ink where it's not supposed to as shown in the image attached.

What's bizarre is that it will print a perfect white "Letter A" and then a few inches down the print it will mess up the other A by applying partial color to that white "Letter A"

I ran several print-head clean alignment patterns and substrate advance calibrations without success

Has anyone encountered this before could offer some advice?

Thank you in advance.

Do you happen to use Flexi RIP?
That very likely comes from your file/RIP and has nothing to do with printer.

Hey Balstestrat, thanks for responding.

Yes, I actually use the SAI Flexi print and cut. I also tried using only the production manager which actually went further in the print job without error but the problem came eventually.

It's known for Flexi to make these errors if you have PDFs made outside the software.

Anyway that's where the issue comes from.

Oh, wow.
I was trying to print a JPEG exported from Adobe Illustrator.
Do you have any suggestions how I can fix the issue?

You shouldn't do that... You have text and logos etc. you should always include the vector data (PDF for example).

My guess is your file has design issues on those areas to begin with and you are compressing the JPEG.

Try PDF or TIFF.

Hello balstestrat, I tried printing an .AI file with two single labels and it printed perfectly. Still, I printed 8 rows of labels using a JPEG file, which printed perfectly until the last two rows, where you could see some imperfections, so I still can't pinpoint the issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flexi before doing these.

If you think you are having a flexi issue, call them. Their tech support is awesome. I called them a few times when I first got my printer. Some things they helped me on, some things I had to do over and some things were actually a glitch in a software update.

Hello Geneva, Thanks for responding. I actually reached out to them, and they suggested a few things to try, which I already did. They are now instructing me to contact my reseller.
