HP Latex 700 Splatter

Has anyone experienced this?
Our printer drops down black splatter in the additional 6" every time we use 60" rolls. We don't use 60" often.
The splatter happens before the curing module, and easily wipes off once through the curing module, but is under the ink so takes it off as well.

We have tried cleaning the rollers, it doesn't seem to be them.

Is it small pieces of rubber from the carriage belt?

I guess there might be dirt accumulated on the entrance diverter guide or the diverter roller. The roller can be accessed easily, but the guide is not trivial.

I think our 560 is starting to deposit carriage belt bits onto our prints - any solutions other than a replacement?

I have seen this on the LX R2000. Is this happening on the cleaning station side of the machine? With the R2000, every couple of passes, the carriage makes a short "cleaning" pass on the cleaning roll. I was finding that the movement of this cleaning pass lined up exactly with the debris on my prints. When the carriage stopped short on this pass (not passing all the way over media) either static pulled, or debris fell onto my prints.

It only seems to happen on acrylic, so I was thinking it was static pulling whatever down on the media. I cleaned under the carriage and found a channel that was collecting dust and debris as well as built up ink on the supports of the carriage. Even with regular cleaning of the carriage plate, there are many other areas that can collect dirt / debris / ink / etc. None of this is in the maintenance schedule of the machine, you just have to get underneath the carriage and clean the hell out of everything. I will be running more acrylic here in the next week, so hopefully everything I cleaned out will fix the issue.
