HP Latex 700 W - does not print any color in mode WUF except white

Hello there,

I need help.
I've been trying to print windows graphics using HP Latex 700 W Printer Onyx in WUF 100 mode for three days now.

Something strange is happening – the white color prints (see attachment).
The other colors don't.

I've tried everything. I even offset the color image from the white background. Surprisingly, in this case, the other colors printed, but not on top of the white, but underneath it (see attachment).

Also, if I remove the white ink layer, the other colors print.

I tried printing old files to check that everything is working with the printer and software. The old files print without a problem.

There's probably an error somewhere in the new file.

What advice can you give me?

Many thanks for considering my request.

Always put your white on top, even for UF mode. Set the color name to Spot1 - no space, capital "S." Then, set all your white elements to overprint the fill. If you don't overprint that absolutely could be causing the issue you're seeing.

I generally place all my white elements on their own layer, just to make it easier to turn on and off to visualize, as well as to make it easier to select. But it's not necessary.

See my video here for details on how to design for white printing.

When using Flexi, you don't need to add a white layer. When using this profile it automatically prints white underneath, you just need to pick how it prints the white, such as "substrate" or "under color". I'm not sure how Onyx works but it's worth a shot.

What design software are you using? This sounds like you need to enable overprint fill. By default rip software will only print the image that is visible at the top of the graphic. Enabling overprint fill will tell the rip software to print all the image, regardless if it is visible or not.

Not sure if you're wanting a full underflood of white from your OP. For full underfloor select "Full page coverage" or what ever it is called in your RIP and do not add a white layer in your graphic as your RIP should take care of the white layer.

Thank you so much! :)
That was exactly the problem. I enabled "Overprint" and everything started working as expected.
