Question Hp Latex 700w printhead lifespan

Hello, I’ve been using the HP Latex 700W for about a year now. I’ve also been using the Latex 335 for 5 years. Overall, I’m very satisfied with both machines. HP service had told me that the new 836 printheads used in the Latex 700–800 series have a much longer lifespan compared to the older ones, but my optimizer printhead failed suddenly at around 2,500 ml, with half of it going out at once. Shortly after, I started seeing horizontal banding in prints due to the LC-LM printhead, which has about 5,600 ml on it. On my older Latex 335, the printheads typically started having issues around 4,000–5,000 ml. I’d like to ask other Latex 700 or 800 users: what has been your average printhead lifespan?

What is the weight of the replaced OP head? If below 64 gr without orange caps, this points to dead by dryfiring. Your service tech should check for trapped air in intermediate tank and evacuate.

Wow, I just weighed it — 48 grams. I spoke with the service team; they said it was the optimizer, that there is only one pipe coming in and it splits into two at the head. The old optimizer printhead failure was partial, only half of it stopped functioning, as you can see in the photo, only half of the printhead is affected.

They mentioned that there might be minor air blockages in the inks, but they haven't encountered any air issues in the optimizer lines. They said it's highly likely that the optimizer head is damaged. When the waste tank was around 20%, I noticed and cleaned some optimizer buildup on the rotating rollers, but I think a bit of it smeared onto the other heads as well. Two of them have straight-line damage. I cleaned them with water, but it didn't fix the issue. One of those heads has about 5800 ml usage, and the other around 3000 ml. I’ll replace those too. There’s no issue with the new optimizer head at the moment, but I guess I should weigh it as well, just to make sure it doesn't suddenly fail like the other one
