HP Latex800W cleaning roll advance

Hi everybody, Is there a way to adjust how often the cleaning roll advances? Reason for asking is because I have a problem with ink building up on the cleaning cloth then eventually the print carriage starts dragging it onto the media and/or if the printer sits for a while, the print head will sit in the built up ink then clog. Does anyone else have this problem?

No and I think you are asking the wrong question. I would tackle this:

Is your maintenance cartridge faulty? Rack engage motor faulty? Printhead or something leaking into it?

If you have ink in the cap then your printhead is faulty.

well I booted into Diag mode and run all of the associated tests for the SVS. no errors reported. But for whatever reason there is a big build up of ink on the cloth. It's possible that the cartridge is faulty, however I can manually advance the roll. Not sure how hard it should be to move it, it was harder than I thought it would be.

I don't know what to compare. Moving the gear that moves the cloth sort of feels like starting a lighter. Some tension because the cloth has a break but nothing crazy.

Anyway when everything is normal you wont get any build up. It will move fast enough to barely get any.
