Question HP Permanent Gloss Adhesive Vinyl price hike

I just went on US Cutters website to order another roll of 150ft x 36" and the price went up $150 as of June 1 :eek::eek: It used to be around $250.00 just in March and now it is $393.00 which is a HUGE jump. I looked at other sites and it seems it is across the board. Anyone know why this is or if it is the Tariffs? Crazy rate hike, we will have to raise our prices quite a bit if we stick with HP. Does anyone know of a comparable media? we are using an HP Latex 315 print & cut system. Thank you!

What is actually the difference between HP Permanent Gloss Adhesive Vinyl and this https://www.lexjet.com/en/hp-prime-gloss-cp-54in-x-150ft?
From what I can see it's 1/3 of the thickness. I put the specs side by side and the rest seems similar. I was hoping to stick with 36" as I am a small woman and the only one to change rolls, etc. and struggle with the 36", not sure I could handle the 54" LOL. Thanks so much, this is a great option, I have never shopped at LexJet and they still have the old price ($277) on the HP Perm Gloss so I may snatch one of those up until they raise the pricing and then try out the one you suggested. :)

There's nothing special about the HP product...and in this case, they are a distributor just like me. There's zero reason to be loyal to HP after this tariff hike.

Yes, I have been having some issues with it for the past several months with some smudging and the ends detaching and curing during printing. I also had to switch to a "generic self adhesive vinyl" profile because the HP profile always had issues for some reason in Flexi RIP. Our returning customers are used to the HP material so I just kept using it and I actually did find that on Lexjet last week and ordered it but I am getting some samples sent from Substance that everyone has been recommending and will be switching from HP after this next roll for sure. If that doesn't work out for some reason I will look at 3M, thank you for the recommendation and link!
