HP Price Hike beginning May 5th

I was told by both HP and a few HP dealers that the price of equipment, ink, parts, and even service was going up 20-30% beginning Monday? Can anyone here confirm or corroborate that statement? Is HP not exempt from any sort of import tax that is the talk of the town these days?

Work for HP's largest dealer, our pricing is even lower than the direct side and yes can confirm for months we've heard this is coming, seen attachments on copiers/printers jump up more than 30% and now bleeding into wide format as well.

Is it a direct result of import tax (tariff) or something else? Do you know?

I reached out to my Grimco rep this morning, who reached out to his HP contact. Said HP is increasing Monday by "like 10%" so under $20. Yeah it's a bump, but it's not going to be any bigger price increase than I've had on that ink the last 6 years.

Personally I think they look for every opportunity to raise their prices and the tariffs are just as good of an excuse as any, we've seen price increases when rates go up, down, economy is good, bad, but never a decrease.
