hp315 printing muddy colors

I've been having a little trouble with my machine. not much. I replaced the hard drive to get the color callibration to work. it still doesn.t . a couple of weeks ago, i had to change out a couple of other components that went bad.

but today I threw in some window perf for a fairly straight forward drive. the green was a dark green and it printed nearly black. and there was a gray that printed blue. Now it's telling me it's time for a maintenance kit. No warning...really. I used to be able to see the information when i connected to the ip address..maintenance kit showed "ok" and never really moved. the printer told me it was time to change the maintenance kit.

here's the real delimma:
since we moved into our shop, our revenue has pretty much quadrupled and we have had to hire more people to keep up. Should I just bite the bullet and buy a new printer?

If that's your only printer it might be good to have a backup

If you are in business, you never know when a printer is going to go down! And it will surely pick a time when 5 jobs are waiting in line. You may want to get another of the same printer because you will have no learning curve on it. However, having 2 diff printers, you may find that one does something better than the other.

I've gotten quotes on an hp730...so thats what i'm buying next.
however, i need a car too and found a unicorn of a deal for a car. so i'm bleeding money...been bleeding money ever since i moved my shop..
