Need Help HP700 Print Quality

On longer print runs , my HP 700 starts banding after about 20 feet. Currently, I’m running a job with 10 foot tall panels, and the first two or three panels will print fine, but then the third panel will start banding, and by the fourth one it is just terrible. See attached pictures. Any input would be appreciated!

Running IJ180v3, print mode 600dpi, 12pass

Seems like optimizer printhead needs replacing.

Your overcoat seems bad as well but you can run the "optimizer depletion test" from the image quality "..." top right corner menu. That will probably tell you.

I didn’t even know that diagnostic Print menu was there. I guess I have been rather lucky with this machine, and not needed it.

@Balestrat, thanks for taking time to respond!
I put in the new print head, and am already 40' into a new roll with no issues! We're printing non-stop for the Super Bowl, so your timely response was invaluable!

@balestrat, I've got another quality issue on the Latex. The material is Dreamscape Terralon, and I'm using that profile, but the results were rough (banding, graininess). I did every cleaning, calibrations, advanced substrate settings, changed the step, tried with and without OMAS, all to no avail. Even changed the optimizer head for good measure.

None of that seemed to work. However, running it with a 3M IJ180 profile, 12p is working fine, and the color is good after calibration.

Q: This seems like a janky workaround....do you know why this might be happening?

Just compare the settings. Probably optimizer and heat might have different values.

Keep using the 3M profile if you already made ICC on it. Wont make any difference after that.
