ink chips for uk and au different than usa?

Was just wondering if the Roland machines in the UK and Australia require different ink cart chips than the USA roland machines? The USA roland machines we can just pop in $10 bulk cartridges and print forever....but I have seen permanent chips for roland machines for sale in the UK and AU for using bulk ink....thanks in advance for any reply!
