Install Trip Cap on channel Letter Faces

Hi All,

Any tips on putting Trim Cap on channel letter faces?

I am redoing just one shape of a sign (I did not make the originals).

I just want to replace the face not the can. I have already printed the image, and mounted it to the acrylic and cut it out. Now I just want to put on the trim cap.

I have seen it done on a steel table top with magnets to hold it in place while I apply the weld-on. But I don't have a steel table top nor the heavy magnets (and its not worth buying them for this one off job).

My plan was to just set the acrylic on a piece of plywood and brace it against some finishing nails to hold while the weld-on sets up.

So any of you have any other tips to get this done?

Thanks!

you got it - plywood and start wrapping the trim around the face and at nails nice and tight as you go around then go back and add more to any loose areas. Once your happy with that squeeze on the cement on corner all the way around - using a watery acrylic cement not the heavy bodied stuff - its easy once you know how.

id hate to recommend anything but the stuff made for the purpose, but if you have weld on 3, use that for your bond then 100% silicone
