Curious what others use when installing let's say channel letters. We seem to just rest them on the bucket, but sometimes the trim cap gets damaged.

I've used moving blankets, coroplast or foam to put underneath them. Channel letters are usually high up on a wall...no one will notice a little damage

We use 2x4s mounted through the bottom of the bucket with nuts & bolts.
Then drape a moving blanket to protect the faces from the bucket
