Is it possible to modify my Enduralam53 Laminator?

I just picked up an Enduralam 53" laminator on the cheap. My question is does anyone know if I can get new collars or make some other modification that would allow me to use 54" media and lam? I'm not too crazy about slitting 1" to 2" to make it work.

All the rollers are wide enough, it's just that the collars are too thick to make it work as is.

leave the collars off we have ran one for 5 years like that and it works fine

I thought about that. I tried it with a collar on one end but not the other and it didn't work so well. I thought about getting a few more of the black rubber things to keep the media cores more from moving around.
