JV-5 error 49 cutter solenoid

this morning when starting up the JV5, i got an error message when it initilizes/detects media, *error 49* cutter soleniod. Manual states to restart the printer to see if it goes away. After about 4 reboots, it seems to work now. Has anyone else seen this before? Is this an item that needs cleaning or service/replacement?

In service manual:

ERROR 49 CUTTER SOLENOID
An error occurred in cutter
control.
Turn the power OFF and turn the
power ON after elapse of 2~3 minutes.
In a case of recurrence, contact your
local distributer to call for service.
1. Check that up/down operation of the cutter
is smooth.
