My printer made a crash sound and these parts fell out but it continued to print and went on printing just fine for 4 straight hours. Any idea what this piece is?

looks like some spare parts. Turn it upside down and shake it to make sure it's all clear. Looks like a giant retaining bar, pin.

I have had the printer almost 18 months. I figured all the extra stuff would have already fallen off. But who knows. Maybe I was supposed to pay extra for the shoots metal rods out option.
