Lam contour cut further out than the vinyl contour cut?

Does anyone do this? If so how was it achieved? The only way I can figure that might work is to set up two seperate files, the print (with crop marks) and contour cut for the vinyl on one file and the second file containing just the contour cut for the lam. I think both files would require a non-printing (white) bounding box so that the crop marks were printed and read in the same place. Anybody follow any of that?
