laminator roller refinishing suggestion

I have a line on a used laminator, but it needs a new roller as it has been cut by the previous owner. I priced a replacement roller at $6500! ouch!!

Does anyone know of a source to recoat them? Even If i replaced the roller at 6500 it is still a decent deal, but if a recoat is a possibility then it gets to be an even better deal.

Here is place in Seattle that we have sent rubber rollers to be re-covered. There are probably similar companies a lot closer to you.

If the rubber is thick enough a machine shop can recut what's left. I saw it done once when I took a machine tool operator course years ago.
