Latex 315

I can't seem to get any satisfaction from the HP website. I have an HP 315 latex printer that I keep having to relocate evry 4-5 months. Every time I have to reset the wireless addresses to get the software to communicate with the printer. I see a USB input where my CAT5 line goes into the printer and would like to use that instead to send files to print. Does anyone know if that is possible? I'm not an IT guy so I have to rely on others to set me up every move and it's beyond frustrating for me. I just want to print!

The USB port is used for firmware updates. It cannot be used for job submission because HP Latex printers require that a software RIP be used to drive the printer. Re-configuring the printer network settings should not take more than about 5 minutes from the front panel.

Thanks for the info on the USB port. Like I said, I'm pretty dense on some of the IT stuff and need some help with configuring the settings. I'm reluctant to start messing with changing numbers, etc. Guess I'll have to wait for the IT guys at this facility.

id just watch or video your it guys setting it up. that way you can just get the information on the inter webs before hand and just do your setup everytime you move instead of being beholden to the IT GODS!!!! usually it just entails setting up the ip and rip computer to match up and from there your gravy. ours was a 10 min setup max
