Latex 570 Interpass delay

On a latex 570, printing on poly paper, I have the interpass delay set to 0, but the carriage still pauses for about 1 second on both sides of the pass. Is this normal?

Looks like the inter-pass delay setting has no effect. No matter what I set it to it always pauses for 1 second at each end.

For 1 second? What mode are you printing in?

The paper profile is copied from the HP Everyday Matte Poly Propylene profile. It's a 8 pass 600dpi print mode.

Hm is it only that profile?

I tried setting it to a 8 pass generic vinyl and a 10 pass generic paper and the result is the same carriage pauses 1 second at each end even thought the inter-pass delay is set to 0.

I talked with an HP tech, he said they'd seen the problem on several machines, they think it is problem with the Onyx software.

We print on that material a lot and we use the 3M ij180 profile

Turns out it's a feature. The printing slows down when the curing door is open.
