LEJ not reading material size correctly

our LEJ uv printer is not reading the material size correctly when it sets up. it's reading bigger by 1/2"-1" bigger.
found out there is a manual alignment correct (i think that's what it was called) anyone know how to do this?
or some sort of manual alignment for the sensor?

One thing you might want to check is if there is over spray building up on the platen. I know when I let this go too long, the machine will start seeing the ink build up as part of the material. It may not always look like much, but it might just be enough. Carefully clean it with the solvent cleaner to take the ink up (you might need to do it a couple of times) and you might be surprised that this solves your problem.

Other than that, I have never done the manual alignment. This has always cured the issue for me.

Ours came from the factory with that sensor way, way out of spec. First tech dialed it in to the appropriate value (I believe it's supposed to be around .7 and ours was 3.5) but the problem came back after a while. New tech explained that the pot they used on the early carriage boards was loose and sloppy so Roland replaced it with one that actually clicks as it's adjusted. He replaced the carriage board under warranty with a new one with the new pot and we haven't had the problem since.

After typing all of that, overspray is still the first and most likely culprit. Clean up the reflective strip real good and see how it goes. If the machine is still under warranty have the VR checked. If it's off have it dialed back in and if they won't replace the board, at least have them put some tape on the pot to keep it from moving around.
