LG phones

Upgraded two phones last month. Bought LG products. Have had iphones for 6 years. Going back to them as much as I don't like them. My brand new LG phone in my pocket in bucket while working where my iphone has lived decided it had been submerged. Guess a good sweat in Florida August heat was too much for it. LG will not fix or repair even if I pay, like the shipping cost I paid to send it for repair. Buy a new one, sorry your phone has been submerged. Not happening. Never buying anything they make again. Hundreds of dollars just thrown away. So stay away from LG products, the company does not stand behind them, while I'm at it, screw ATT as well. Going tomorrow to switch devices and carriers.:banghead:

What truly blows my mind is that they won't even charge me to repair it. Just sorry buy another one.

I'm going to assume the moisture pad was their confirmation. Any phone with a pop open back can be more susceptible to exposure versus a device that is sealed. It's not limited to LG.

There are usually two pads in a phone. One on the battery, and one on the main logic board around the SIM slot. A small piece of scotch tape helps mitigate excess humidity. Iphones have moisture pads too! They are around the port and a secondary around the camera lens/battery tape. Sucks worse on them because they are more tamper proof.

if it got wet internally it is toasted and cant be fixed. inside there is a humidity sensor. if it changed color they wont touch it. but you cant really blame a manufacturer for having a non waterproof phone be waterproof. ?? You should look into getting a cheap phone for work and put that in a waterproof otterbox. then maybe a nice second phone one for personal use.

I'm getting rid of my smart phone. they're dangerous.
They're too easy to hack. Psycho paths can easily spy on you with these phones. Camera comes on by itself, plus the phone microphone pics up surrounding sounds. Track you with gps, etc.

To block this you can, Wrap the phone in two layers of tin foil to block the signal.
I had this happen to me, so now I also have a cheapo burner phone .

I heard Apples are more secure.

Just going to go back to iphone. 6 years no problem of any kind in an otterbox. Rain, shine, sweaty hard working soaked to the bone sign hippy welding in a bucket truck, no problems.

The wife and I have had LG phones for a couple of years . I like them, But the microphone quite working on mine after about one year. I called the insurance company. And they gladly sent me a check for the full amount, The replacement that I bought. (same model) had gone down in price about $50.00. The key word in this reply is "INSURANCE".You really only have yourself to blame for spending several hundred dollars on a device that has to be handled with a certain amount of care. And not insuring it.

Are you referring to the insurance you get via your phone carrier? I get that insurance too for the 1st year or so, but it always come with a deductible
of $150 - $200... how did you get full replacement cost?

I love my LG too, especially the fact it has a built in universal remote for all my gadgets.
The LG edge is waterproof out of the box, no special case required, they show people using it underwater.

The policy I bought was something I found on my own. Not through the carrier. And I do need to make a correction, there was a $35.00 deductible that I paid.
