Line Sensor or Colour Sensor L25500

Hello Everyone,

Can someone give me some insight as to the function of the Line sensor and the Colour sensor?
Also I am about to purchase one out of the two parts and wanted to know which one is of more importance.

Both sensor systems are located on the printer's carriage. The Line Sensor is used for sensing the paper skew and width, and aligning printheads among other things. The Colour Sensor can be used for colorimetric and densitometric measurements. Of the two, the Line Sensor is perhaps the more essential on the L25500.
