Loud vibration on classic edge

Just now hooked up my used edge and right off the bat...problems. Kept getting data error so turned my checksum to on position and that resolved that (using flexisign 7.6
Now it sends data and when foils starts I get this loud vibration sound as if something is too tight..horrible sound. Looked at diagram to see if they had installed the buffer (vibration locks?) when they shipped it but diagram is so crappy not sure what they look like. Just seems like something is not moving.

Any idea what's causing this vibration? Foil is not moving but am sure I have cartridge installed right. First time out there was no loud vibration just normal edge sound.

Also the machine is not telling me what color foil to load first

Any ideas and thanks for your time in advance. I know we all are busy

Attached are PDFs with instructions for packing and unpacking. Depending on the model you purchased, one or the other is appropriate.

Edge Trunion or Classic = 2011

Edge LE = 2012

The first thing I would check would be if the printhead is free to rock back and forth. If not, then the shipping clamps are still installed. If not, then you probably have a cracked printhead from shipping it unprotected. If this is so, the cost of the repair is usually more than the value of the used Edge.

As far as displaying the foil it is looking for, the first thing displayed should be the vinyl it is looking for.

Thanks so much Fred. I really appreciate your imput. It appears to be an edge classic. I tried to rock the print head but it is tighter than tight. Still cannot see anything attached anywhere! I'm going to call the guy first thing in morning to see if he installed anything anywhere. Diagrams were simple but I am at a loss.

Now all I'm getting is data error then occasionally acts as if it wants to work but continues to say data error.

Should be easy but knew it wouldn't be for me. Guess that's how we learn!

Again, Thanks

Fred...was pressing the unseen keys and it ran a print test perfectly so it seems to me I have a setting wrong somewhere. Like I said I am using flexipro 7.6vs2 and it's running in windows 98... I know, old but I've got some old workhorse graphtec plotters that keep on going so why mess a good thing up
