Making jigs on colex

In Print

New Member
Probably not the typical use, however we never played with the router function on our newer colex (older one doesn’t have a router bit) as we don’t really need it much. This is the first time we would be using it for setting up a file to “engrave”. We are using 12mm Sintra and plan is to route a jig for our name badges to start. Will hopefully a bunch more jigs after. The name badges are 60 mil thick and we want the depression to be 75% of the thickness of the name badges. Jig is for a Mimaki 6042 and we plan to make it go edge to edge on that table. We just bought the 6042 for smaller items and bottles but we are moving the badges from our large format to here. I believe we know how to get the file set up to the point of setting how deep it should route. I am lost at that point.
If someone knows how AND can try to help out in laymen’s terms as I have no prior knowledge of routing, that would a huge help!!
