Matchprint 5542

I have a Kodak Matchprint 5542 printer that I bought used. I'm pretty sure this is basically a HP Designjet 5500 42" with an internal Kodak RIP. I got the printer to work with the HP driver. Flexisign prints for this printer as well, using the built in 5500 driver but I'd like to change the firmware or do whatever needs to be done to turn this into a HP 5500 and not a Matchprint 5542 so I can use the HP printer utility to RIP. I don't have the original Matchprint drivers or anything, but I have an old computer (that I'd rather not use) which has Matchprint on it. I also have a firmware disk I ordered from HP. I'm completely new to signs and LF printing and could really use any advice anyone could provide me with. Any suggestions?
