Material For Retractable Stands

Sorry to keep asking similar questions but we're getting pushed on a bunch of projects to sharpen numbers.

We produce a bunch of retractable stands in house... probably between 30 - 50 a month. The material we typically use is a gray backed PVC from Ultraflex. It's not super expensive but looking for another vinyl (preferably in 38") to bring on for the more "competitive" jobs. Also looking for another supplier for Economy stands but that's my next thing.

We always pushed the best product we could as far as hardware and media but some clients just don't care. I'm looking at all my materials and seeking "more economical" alternatives for certain projects.

Thanks.

Grimco sells this:

Duratex Composite PVC/PET Gray Back Film

which is about half the square foot price of the polyester film we use. It might be a little cheaper than Ultraflex.

Thanks. The ultraflex is significantly less than that in cost.

I guess I was looking for a standard vinyl that’s less than the ultraflex that works in a stand.

Some of the projects are tight and margin is everything (and not making mistakes)

Sometimes you have to assess whether the customer is bullying you into no-profit. And he really can't get it cheaper than you anywhere else anyway.

About a year ago the ultraflex grayback was out of stock and I used the 38X164-12OZ-WHITE-SMOOTH TWO SIDED BLOCKOUT BANNER also from ultraflex. It was a good alternative and cheaper. What do you pay for your banner stands?

We use Matte Poly Blockout Vision Media from Pony graphics. They used to sell it in 38", but we can only get it in 54" now.
The price really doesn't matter as it is super cheap. Haven't checked in quite a while but is used to be $135 for 54" x100'. That is Canadian.
Not sure where you can find that in the US.

this is the one i've been using and the chrome makes the graphics look really metallic with great quality.
but if you don't want the Chrome you can use the back side which is white.

QM-CMPET-42100 42" x 100' Satin Chrome Roll-
Up Film
3" Core for Eco-Solvent, Latex, UV
