Matte Clear?

When applying the matte clear foil finish over the top of lets say a gloss black vinyl, will it give it a matte or satin finish to the entire decal? Sorry this may be a obvious question just want to see how this has worked for you guys. I know I could use a satin laminate but I need these finished decals to be thin as possible.

If you print on Gloss paper and laminate with Matte laminate your print will be Matte just like your laminate. Whatever you laminate will take on the look of your laminate no matter what your laminating.

I think the question is if Matte clear topcoat is fully matte or a little satin

Sorry the question probably could have been worded differently. I guess what I am asking if I laminate with a matte vinyl laminate will it look the same as if I laminate with the matte foil laminate?
