Mix and matching Cutter/Printer

We're shopping for new printer and plotter. Pretty set on a 1324 Valuejet, but the cutter is up the air. Initially we figured to get the matching Mutoh Valuecut, but found we can get a better price on a Roland cutter from another distributor. Any cons to mixing brands?

Just make sure that you can print correct registration marks for a specific cutter. (RIP)
I have Mutoh Falcon und Graphtec FC8600-130 cutter.

Works out great (Aside from printer being slow)

We mixed our brand printer / cutter with no problems at all. We have a Zund cutter and run Caldera RIP as well as a Graphtec with no issues.

what DK Graphix said.

As long as your buying newer stuff there shouldnt be a problem but double check the rip will print the right kind of reg marks.
