Moving a VP540

I'm looking to move to a new location in the spring, I have the option of having a professional break down and move my VP540 or move it myself.

1. Am I a fool to even thing about hauling it myself?

2. is there a manual that lists what you need to do before it can be moved?

Many thanks.

I moved 2 times. I have 2 SP-540.
1. claim heads (follow manual from your printer).
2. remove waste ink bottle and wrap tubes in plastic bag
3. you will need 3-4 people
4. put blankiet on the truck bed
5. keep printer leveled and slide it from stand to the truck
6. drive slowly!!!!!
7. take back from the truck and mount on the stand
8. drive to your shop
It works for me any time. It is not much lifting.....printer stand has rolls. I was moving around 4 miles each time. Good luck!

You should be able to move it yourself

I don't think it's rocket science, I have not moved my SP-540, however, I would be very confident in moving it myself. As long as you follow the typical moving preparations and use common sense, you should be able to move it yourself.

Just contact Roland or your dealer for the proper pre-moving procedure, and go from there.

Be sure not to take out your cartridges. I did that and I got air in ink tubes going from the cartridges to the head.
