Mutoh Rockhopper II - "Please insert WashCart." ?¡?

All,
Recently I have replaced some fuses on an old Rockhopper II and a C4131 transistor. The printer starts OK, states that "Ink not original" and keeps the process till this message is displayed: "Please insert WashCart.".
I have loaded cartridges with eco solvent (that doesn't have a chip) but can't force the printer to 'clean'.

I couldn't find any information on this other than there is a set of cartridges that are sold called "Mutoh Cleaning Cartridges".

I don't have access to these, and still don't know if those are needed.

Any lights on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Can a non pressurized capping station led to this? If so, how can I test the pumps without turning on the printer?

Do you maked a flush system? What ink system you have in printer? CMYKCMYK or CMYKLcLm? what firmware is in printer (2.11, 2.17 or 3.00 - is smartcard reader disable by code in firmware 2.xx? Give same infornations for detect problem.
Good luck.

If you need to clean system by solvent flush liquid, you can do this without start the printer. You need 2 cartridges with flush liquid, insert those in to 2 positions for 1 head (1A+1B, 2A+2B,3A+3b, 4A+4B), remove the cover over pumps, disconnect tube from capstattion to pumps, is there 4 tube for 4 heads ( disconnect white tube before pump). connect 50ml syringe ( you can buy in some pharmacy shop, is not expensive than AUTHORITY DEALER:smile:) with some 5cm long tube (there is good piece of tube from pump to waste bottle) and you can pull flush liquid for clean. (TAKE CARE, THAT YOUR CAPSTATION IS GOOD WITH PRINTHEAD)
Good luck.
If you want, I can show to you, how to bypass smartcard reader ( not software, is hardware modification, but is not hard to make).
see you.

Thank you for your reply Devahoch,
I couldn't complete a flush system as it doesn't want to work with the solvent filled cartridges... Printer FW I can't recall now as I'm not near the printer, what is the way of bypassing the smart card reader? That may solve the issue of it not pumping ink and recognizing the cartridges as "Not original Ink"?

Thanks again

If you have firmware 2.11 or under, you can bypass cardreader by secret code in start ( is attachments).
If you have upgraded 3.00 or 3.01 firmware, is can't apply this. By my method with firmware 3.00, I can disable write to smartcard, but printer need original cards for start. You can't start printer without smartcards.

I've make it work thanks to your data for overriding the smartchip detection, that was excellent.

I still have to unclog the heads, will do that this weekend using an ultrasound machine.

I would like to know if there is an accessory to purge ink straight to this point, I do not have any piece that connects here and my tought is that its a valve for manually flowing ink straight before the heads.

Anybody knows how is it called?
