With the machine powered off, unlock and push the head all the way to the left of the printer. Then power on and tell us if the error pops up immediately, while the head is moving and where, or if it happens at the docking area.

If everything mentioned above has already been checked and cleaned, then a lot of possible causes have been ruled out, so the issue is not a simple mechanical blockage.
E072 cr2 Current Error means the carriage cr motor current is abnormal.
The printer detects an unusual current while the carriage is moving, so the control board thinks there may be resistance or a drive problem and stops the machine for protection.
This doesn’t always mean there is a physical jam,it just means the system is seeing a current change that shouldn’t be there.
Most likely the CR motor is worn or has an internal coil issue.
It could also be a loose or intermittent motor cable connection.

Did this first thing and nothing happened. Head came back to docking station and performed a cleaning with no issue.

Im starting to think its the motor, although after I did a deep and thorough cleaning last night I was able to print 5ft but when I got in this morning I wanted to see how much I could print and it made it about 2ft before it threw the code again.

Checking it how? I went into the self diagnostic function and did the init on the motors. When I repowered the machine it asked to remove cartriges and put in a the cleaning cartriges, so I did that. Once that was done, it asked to re insert the ink so I did that and now it keeps saying media end...

I'm not saying check by self diagnosis or motor initialization menu...
I mean an inspection of the motor and its cables...
Check for intermittent breaks in the motor cable, replug or temporarily replace the motor cable, the current error is usually not detected by the motor init, because the motor can still initialize normally even if the coil is aging or the cable has intermittent faults.

Ah I understand. Well ive got other issues now after going into the self diagnosis menu. The printer wont even attempt to initalize media, so Ive got to address this issue now. Im going to unplug for a few minutes and see if that will reset it.

That rules out a bad lock mechanism and it seems like your encoder system is working. Unfortunately, it sounds like this is one of those pesky electrical issues where it could be the motor, which is rare, or possibly a bad trailing cable or main board.
What does the machine do now? Is it throwing an error or just freezing at boot up?

Currently when I turn the machine one it goest to initialize media and does nothing then says MEDIA END. I am unable to do anything with the printer at the moment.

It's possible the sensor failed but I would try calibrating it first. See below:

1. Boot the machine while holding the up, right, and down keys on the printer. It will boot in service mode.

2. Scroll to the Adjustment Menu and hit enter.

The first option should be, "Rear/Edge Sensor." Hit enter on that option.

3. Now the machine will sort of walk you through the rest. It's going to adjust the rear (media detection) sensor and also the edge (media width) sensor. It will tell you to load media and unload media at certain times and then when it's actually doing the adjustment, you will see some numbers on screen that change at first but then settle down eventually. Once the numbers are all not changing anymore, you can hit enter. This will happen for each sensor so it will do it twice.

When I hold down those buttons it takes me to the maintenace menu. The only options im getting are

Mainte.1: Indication
Mainte.2: Initcounter
Mainte.3: Print
Mainte.4: Paperfeed

Make sure you're booting up like the picture below. It sounds like you entered maintenance mode 2 instead of self diagnosis mode.

That means the rear sensor is working now but the edge sensor might not be. It's what measures the media width and if it doesn't get a value, you get the undefined media error. I'd try recalibrating it again. It might have gotten a bad reading.

Man, you are saving me right now and it is much appreciated. That fixed it the issue, I am going to do flush of the lines while I have everything down then I will try to print something to see if I still get the CR code.
