Im not sure if this is allowed, if not I appologize, I know people ask for clip art, I need a font, it costs 499.00, I would only use it once or twice, nt enough money made to come close to paying a small portion of the bill.

If this is allowed, is there anyone that would be willing to share this font, we have a pc, if so let me know, thank you in advance.

...or you could tell your customer that you have to add that to the bill if they can't provide ready-to-use art.

That's a pretty simple san-serif font, you should be able to find a very close substitute with little effort.

I understand your problem but we do not allow file sharing of clip art, fonts or any other copyrighted material. I do agree that Berthold is very out of step with the rest of the font manufacturers in their pricing and distribution policies. You do have other options, however.

1. Find a copy of the clone from the Serials Type Collection that I supplied to you in your other thread. That name was Olympia Extra Bold Condensed. Here is a link again that I supplied to you in your other thread where you can purchase and download it for 17.17 Euros ... which seems reasonable enough.

2. Find someone who offers typesetting services and who has the font. I think The Vector Doctor offers those services.

3. Explain the situation to your customer and offer them the choice of paying for the purchase, providing their own vector artwork, or accepting the substitution of a similar font. Akidenz Grotesk is a close cousin of Helvetica, Swiss, Arial and other sans serif humanist fonts.

For the record, here is our posted rules regarding file sharing at Signs 101:

Please Don't Ask for Digital Files at Signs 101
Signs 101 is a free site for members of the sign making craft and other related crafts. It's purpose is to provide a venue for self-improvement and community.

Many members here are generous of nature and may not realize the inappropriateness of supplying digital files, not of their own creation, to others who may need them. Many members here do, in fact, recognize the inappropriateness of such activity. Some members here, are, in fact, in the business of creating such intellectual property and are highly concerned about the growing tendency among some to give and receive digital files which they have no right to transfer.

In short, Signs 101 is not to be used for soliciting the transfer of digital files. You can ask where to obtain needed artwork or ask how to go about creating it, but you cannot ask someone to give it to you at this forum.

It is the policy of Signs 101 to encourage pointing members to where they can obtain what they seek but, at the same time to remove any post which solicits any other member(s) to transfer any artwork, logo or other graphic product.

Buy the Softmaker Megapak or whatever they call it, 49 bux it has Atkins, it is pretty much it. Plus you get a bunch 12,000 (really 3,000) fonts and some are quite intersting, the digitized original Palatino (Palazo Original) which is quite different than Palatino offered elsewhere, and they have a few others not available elsewhere. Even their more expensive library is pretty nice.
