Need help converting logo for routing

Good Morning,
I am using Flexi 21 and have a job I am having issue with. I have a logo that I need to get combined so that it will route out just the outside edge. In the past (Flexi12) I have grouped everything and went to Effects, combine & weld and it put everything together as one outline. For some reason I can't get it to work like that in 21. what am I doing wrong? Full disclosure: I very rarely do this so please bare with me. I tried attaching the file but could not for some reason. I assume pdf files are not allowed?

Thanks
Richard

You can upload a pdf, but there's a size limit. it may be too large.

I am having to post it as a jpg. What I am trying to do, without success, it make it one complete outline for routing purposes. All the white areas will be getting routed out. I am going to need to split it where the arrow is to make it easier to handle.

for something like this, if simply adding contours doesn't work, I'll select all and offset ~1/8" & then inline that new shape by ~5/32"-3/16" to allow for a bleed to be trimmed off when applied to the routed shape.

edited to add: also making sure I've converted strokes to outlines beforehand, which could be what's throwing you for a loop as the contours might not actually be overlapping and the stroke is making up for it.

Richard - what size is it? How will it be used? How many do you have to do?
Can you reduce the image so we can see the whole sign layout?

If you need a logo converted for routing, the main thing is to make sure it is turned into a clean vector file first. Routing machines work best with formats like AI, SVG, EPS, or DXF, because these files keep the lines sharp and scalable. If your logo is only in JPG or PNG, it usually has to be redrawn or vectorized before it can be routed properly.

Also, not every logo is routing-friendly as it is. Very thin lines, rough edges, blurry text, and tiny details can create problems during cutting. A good approach is to simplify the artwork where needed, clean up the curves, and make sure every path is properly closed. In my experience, the best results come from preparing the logo specifically for the routing process instead of doing a quick auto-conversion.
