Need help replacing a readerboard with a standard vinyl lettered sign (lexan board)

I have a customer requesting a changeable letter-board/ Marquee Reader-board be changed and replaced with a standard 4x8 sign with vinyl lettering. I have changed out sign faces before but need a little reassurance that this is the same process. Has anyone done this before/ is it the same? TIA!!

Is it internally illuminated? I would want to check it out in person to see how the faces were installed.

It is not a lighted reader board...I have scheduled time early next week to go out and see how it is put together, I was just hoping someone here had some quicker insight for me. Thank you!
