Need help saving an .eps file down to CS4

Can someone please help me save an .eps file down to CS4. I need a vector logo to print on a real estate sign and when I place the newer .eps file into Adobe Illustrator it doesn't give me the vector elements to change the color...it's just one combined image.

Either hit "embed" and it will be broken down to its elements. If that doesn't work or there are fonts used that you don't have, try "flatten transparency", slide the bar all the way to Vector, make text outlines. If it does have transparency it can be a pain because it'll break all the elements down further to accommodate the transparency, but it's the only way if you don't have the fonts.
