need to make gloss vinyl matte finish

I have a job with a metallic vinyl that needs to be a matte finish,is there a way to do it with out lamination ? clear laminate ? spray ?

seriously....short answer NO. Unless you laminate it with a matt/semi-gloss you're stuck. Anything you spray on it may effect long term durability. Why not search out the proper sheen in the right vinyl product from the get-go?

Why don't you want to laminate it?
Laminated some gloss black with matte lam, looked pretty nice, not quite the flat black i wanted... but nice.

If you're only doing a couple and laminate is out, a light touch with a scotchbright pad might work.

I second the Crylon (Krylon). I painted some 751 three years ago and applied it to a trailer. Still looks good.

The color is champagne metallic. Its short term for race car stripes, that either wrecks or changes for next year.
