Need Help No ink coming out of my Roland VersaCammVS-640i

Evening all,

I wondered If I could ask a quick question about my Roland VS-640i? It doesn't seem to be drawing ink through or print. I keep it clean and do regular maintenance on it but I must admit I haven't properly printed anything for a short while, the white ink cartridge is also empty but I am waiting for one to arrive. I have taken the covers off and done a few checks and cleans, such as soaks etc. The printhead isnt blocked, the dampers don't seem to be blocked or dried out and I've replaced the captop. But I still don't seem to get any ink to come out when I do a test print or just try to print anything. Looking at the ink line tubes, they have ink in them but I can't see it moving when I try printing or do any ink cycles. What could be the reason for this? Could it be simply because the white cartridge is empty, stopping the printer printing any colour or could it be that the dampers aren't drawing it through for some reason?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks
Ben

A VS, so it is old. How about the pump?
You need to have ink coming out of the the drain tube at the waste bottle.
Run a powerful clean and lower the drain bottle.
If no ink, could be the pump, captop to head adjustment.
Disconnect both captop lines at the pump. Clamp on of those lines, attach syringe to the other line, pull gently.
you should be getting vacuum with ink.
if pulling air, you have a issue.
if not pulling ink, you have a issue.
good luck
