Makeshift levees hold floodwaters at bay.

Most do not have flood insurance, so I imagine it would cost way more to repair a flooded home than to be pro-active and build your own levee.

Not sure if they will hold but I think I would do the same thing if I was ever in that situation.

I think it would be a good idea to build with a layer of plastic in between, to keep the levee from getting soaked, and then breaking down.

Man, that was awesome, that was a lot of work. I like that second line of defense, the moat on the inside of the levee, and the tractor running a pump to bail the water leaking into the moat.

Looks like this guy tried his best to save his home, I sure hope he was able too!
