Question Old Shop Selling USED material should we buy?

Hello everyone! This is my first post here, and I was hoping to get some advice.

An older sign shop is stop business and is selling a large lot of print media and vinyl for around $2,500 CAD. There are some good materials included, like a couple of rolls of 3M Controltac and some reflective media, and banner matieral and IJ35C-10, and other stuff with no name on it.
but most of the inventory is dated between 2015 and 2018.

There's around 3-4 rolls that are 100% new not touched but from 2018
most of the stuff has 30-40% left on it some have less

The material was stored in a well-ventilated area, and from what I can tell, it looks to be in decent condition. I'm wondering if it's still worth buying, or if the age alone makes it too much of a risk.

I'll attach some pictures. Any advice or experiences with older vinyl and print media would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I wouldn't touch them with a 10ft stick.
More than likely the vinyl will be brittle, crack, lost its adhesion. = you're left with garbage in, garbage out.

No. Vinyl has a shelf life and those dates have far exceeded it.

Offer them $500 to get rid of it for them. Like others said, you are taking a chance if it is good or not.

Have him pay you $100 to take it away. Other than that, don't buy other people's junk.
Maybe give him $50 for that nice vinyl rack he has.

I’ve had bad luck with old vinyl. I kept some rolls when I went to printing and regretted it. It gets brittle and hard to weed and apply. Not worth the headache

Its only good for $100 for the lot and you can use it as testing material if you want to see how something is going to come out before you print on your real stock.
