Onyx - Flexi

Hey Everyone! We are currently using Onyx Postershop and Flexi for our design and rip needs. Anytime I see videos on either of those applications, they always seem much faster than our. Faster in terms of ripping speeds and exporting. We have a decent system which includes a 2070 Nvidia Gpu, AMD Ryzen 9 3900x Cpu, 64gb DDR4 ram, and 2tb M.2 drive. I am aware that the GPU might need an upgrade but have been told that the gpu is more than enough. Any thoughts?

Onyx doesn’t use GPU at all, it’s just slow as balls.

Also, my onyx rip pc slows to a crawl if I don't restart it every other day, and I'm printing every other day. How often are you restarting the rip machine in particular.

Are you comparing apples to apples in files?
your PC is plenty good for onyx. onyx uses single core processing and the 3900x has great single core performance.
Your GPU is only running the screens. onyx does not need GPU processing.

You also should need to restart the pc daily. If you do, there is an issue somewhere else.

We use flexi for our rip and didn’t understand why it was so slow.

I came across someone in one of these chats with the information below and when I do this it completely clears up the lag.

“Try clearing out "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAi\SAi Production Suite Cloud\Jobs and Settings\Temp" Your location may be slightly different, but it's the Job & Settings Temp folder.

Edit: You'd probably be safe deleting stuff over a year old. You should be safe deleting anything in the folder that isn't currently open in Flexi.

Oh, and go to Edit>Trash Can>Empty. That can free up some memory if you had copied and pasted a large image.”

Flexi Temp and destination folder full?

I am trying to crop a jpg in flexi 12. It keeps giving me a pop up error saying " Operation failed. The disk may be full. Please check both the temporary and destination directories" I have cleared the temp folder but I'm not sure where the destination directory would be. The jpg is 35mb and...
