Onyx Headaches for an inexperienced user - Send Help

Hey so I've been on and off working with Onyx printing on 2 Epson S80600's for just over a year now and it seems like every few months it decides to throw some curveballs at me. My boss and I will scratch our heads with it for a bit and 99% of the time it magically disappears but I think it's time for me to pop on here and get some opinions, and guidance to see if it's Onyx being Onyx or I'm simply put just dumb and inexperienced.

1 Issue -

We came across was when leaving Copies to default, Onyx would sometimes decide that Default = 0 copies but this was a 1/50 occurrence and would always be at the most inconvenient time.

Found Workaround -

Set to 1 regardless and it'll always print the file.

Issue 2 -

Recently we've had an issue with Onyx defaulting to 720x720x720 - 6 Pass on our IJ180mC-10 [3M] profile (rather than the 8 Pass version we use on the daily) and some operators less experienced than myself haven't noticed and just sent it through (Though this hasn't caused many issues, some of the more flood-coated jobs have had noticeable quality differences.)

This is an on-going issue as of the past 2 weeks that's never really happened beforehand.

Issue 3 -

Our newest glitch is with Tiling, I've had 2 jobs recently decide to just automatically enable tiling from Onyx which was a huge inconvenience with me. The first was a smaller job that I caught once it started and assumed the previous operator had selected by accident and switched off. The second though I sent it to print end of play to print over night and the first half looked perfect but the second half was missing a 2 inch chunk ruining the job.

I can't see anything regarding this issue (the previously printed jobs where on the same sized media in the day and automatic update media was selected on change media and page size (though I always manually do it just in case) the job was made to fit the media as always so there is no issues there. (1372mm Media, Page size 1363.6mm, Printable upto 1353.57mm, job size 1331.77mm)

If anyone has any advise on these issues I'd love some input! I know both issues can be resolved manually and with taking the time to check it all over but as you'll probably know, the sign industry is fast paced and you run on auto-pilot most of the day so I'd like to find fixes rather than dealing with it.

Thanks in advance!

Matt

1. Set it to 1 in quickset?
2. Just change it in the quickset?
3. I don't know but inspect the quickset and check your output settings so you have no additional margins or something in either of the layout settings.
Thanks for the quick reply -
1 - I didn't realise I could set it in the quickset so I'll definitely check that out!
2 - That's my issue, It was set to 8 Pass in the quickset and at some point it's reverted back to 6 in the quickset and I'm confused by it.
3 - We did check the quickset but couldn't see anything regarding auto-enabling it. I'll try checking the margins etc. thanks!

2. Could be if you have the auto media update in the quickset or your media changes, it will revert back to "whatever" printmode. You can remove the 6-pass from the media and it will not bother you any longer.
